Delaware Union Soccer Club Announces Promotion of Dan Simmons to Juniors Director

MIDDLETOWN, DELAWARE, March 31, 2023 — The Board of Directors of the Delaware Union Soccer Club is pleased to announce the promotion of Dan Simmons to the position of Juniors Director, effective immediately. Dan brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served as a staff coach for the club since 2011, as well as holding coaching positions at various schools and soccer clubs. 

"We are excited to have Dan Simmons take on this new role within our club," said Jeff Martino, Delaware Union Soccer Club President. "His dedication and passion for the sport, as well as his commitment and experience in developing young players, will be invaluable as we continue to grow and strengthen our club."

Qualifications & Experience

Dan’s' qualifications include a BA in Political Science from Elon College and coaching licenses from the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and United Soccer Coaches (USC), including the USSF National “C” License, USC Director of Coaching License, USC Goalkeeper Diploma, and USC Futsal Diploma.

Throughout his career, Dan has shown a commitment to developing young players and building strong relationships with families. He has coached at various levels of the game, including serving as head coach for Polytech High School, and as staff coach for Central Delaware Soccer Association and the Olympic Development Program.

In addition, he has served as the TOPSoccer Dover Director for Delaware Union from 2017 to 2020, demonstrating his dedication to inclusivity and ensuring that players of all abilities have the opportunity to participate in the sport.

"I am thrilled to take on this new role with Delaware Union Soccer Club," said Dan. "I am grateful for the opportunity to continue working with the boys and girls of our club and to help them develop both on and off the field."

Dan's experience and qualifications make him the ideal candidate for the position of Juniors Director, where he will be responsible for overseeing the development of young players and ensuring that they receive the highest level of coaching and support.
